He was accompanied by a high- powered delegation of UAE ministers, other government officials and the airline’s top executives.
According to him, while Emirates is honoured to be the recipient of Boeing’s landmark plane, it is also committed to helping Boeing and the US economy with the order of another 93 aircraft.
He expressed confidence that their request would generate a significant number of jobs in various capacities of the industry.
Meanwhile Dubai is examing ways of raising funds to expand its aviation infrastructure.
Dubai Airports Chief Executive Officer, Paul Griffiths said they would come up with a structure that would enable them to access the financial market in the most cost-effective way.
Griffiths, a former Chief Executive Officer of London Gatwick Airport said the world is a very challenging place at the moment to raise funds, but added that the Dubai Airports’ record on growth and its firm expansion plans would help.
“I’ d imagine wer’re in a fairly good place as a blue-chip utility if we were in a structure that would enable us direct access into the market,” he said.
“All options are in consideration, Obviously, some options are a step, others are a giant leap,” he added.
