NAHCO Acquires 325 Ground Support Equipment
In line with its commitment to efficient service delivery, the Nigerian Aviation handling Company Plc (nacho aviance) has acquired 325 ground support equipment at the cost of N2 billion.
The Head of corporate communication of the company, Sanya Onayoade in a statement said this was in fulfillment of its promise to shareholders, airline, clearing agent and investors.
He said that different types of the GSE ordered last year began to arrive last week, adding that the equipment were made up of 2 units of wide body Push Back, 6 units of motorised conveyor belt, 12 units of passenger step,3 units of motorized toilet browser, 12 units of Ground Power Unit (GPU), 4 units of Air Start Unit (ASU), 80 units of Container Dollies, 100 units of Pallet Dollies as well as 40 units of Baggage Carts.
“In addition, a total of 17 different types of forklifts made up of 4 units of 5 tonnes, 3 units of 7 tonnes, 8 units of 3 tonnes and 2 units of 12 tonnes have also been received,” he said.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Kayode Oluwasegun-Ojo who received the equipment reiterated the importance of aviation industry to economic development of any nation, adding that the industry currently offers the fastest commercial means of moving goods and persons.”
According to him, besides efficient service delivery, the company’s gesture is also to support the Federal Government’s vision for airport modernisation and open up the much-needed investment in aviation sector.
“We at nacho aviance Plc should be at the fore-front of change and to attain this we must move at the speed of change,” he said.
He thanked the company’s customers for their support and encouragement, saying “they have proved to be worthy partners of nacho aviance Plc and the entire aviation industry even in the face of the infrastructural challenge being currently addressed by the Minister of Aviation.”
The company’s Chief Operation Officer, Mr. Norbert Bielderman listed other equipment currently on the high seas as 13 units of High Loader, made up of 6 units of Lower Deck, 2 units of Commander 15; and 5 units Man Deck Loader.
