Outgoing FRSC Zonal Commander Tasks Officers
The outgoing Lagos Zonal Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Danjuma Garba on Saturday urged all officers to shun indiscipline and be committed to service.
Garba made the call in an interview with newsmen in Lagos, reminded them of the importance of the commission in a mega city such as Lagos.
“I weep when I hear of our officers taking bribe on the highways and extorting money.
“My sure principle ever is zero tolerance for indiscipline, injustice and corruption.”
Garba warned that any officer caught in an act of indiscipline would be dealt with according to the law.
He advised officers and members of the command to imbibe the reading culture to attain excellence on the job.
“Let me tell you that reading is a good culture which characterises every successful man and woman in any career.
“So upgrade your knowledge on the job by reading relevant books.
“What has helped me to this stage is partly my reading culture as I read often to gain more knowledge and so I want to enjoin you to read too in order not to be ignorant.”
Our correspondent reports that Garba was elevated to the rank of Deputy Corps Marshal, Training, Standards and Certification and redeployed to FRSC headquarters in Abuja.
