Council Presents N3bn Appropriation Bill
Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Mr. Reginald Ukwuoma has presented the 2012 appropriation bill to the legislative arm of the council tagged “Budget of Great Hope” a total revenue estimate of N3.7b, with N1.6b for recurrent expenditure while capital expenditure is N1.7b.
Making the presentation at Okehi, Mr. Ukwuoma said commerce, integrated human development as well as provision of electricity and water would be given priority.
He announced that his council would complete the ultra modern Eketa-Igbodo market, rehabilitate Ulakwo Better Life market, empower widows, disabled persons and improve on workers welfare.
The chairman who lauded the existing cordial relationship between the executive and the legislative arms, called on the legislature to give the appropriation bill an accelerated hearing to ensure its early passage.
