Rivers Registers 59,754 For WASC/WAEC
The Rivers State Government , has registered a total of 59,745 senior secondary school students for the 2012 May/June West African School Certificate Examination.
The figure comprises 33,802 students drawn from public schools and 25,952 from private schools across the 23 local government areas of the state.
The beneficiaries emerged from a validation and screening exercise undertaken by a six-member committee inaugurated by the state Commissioner for Education, Barrister Alice Lawrence Nemi on October 18, 2011.
Six support staff of the ministry were also nominated to assist the committee members in the assignment which commenced on October 31, 2011 and ended on January 31, 2012.
