RVHA Deputy Speaker Clears Air On PENGASSAN/Vam Crisis
The Deputy Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Leyii Kwanee, has said that he has no interest in the dispute between Vam Onne Nig Ltd, Marine Platform and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN.
A statement signed by his media aide, David Amusa indicated that when the Deputy Speaker’s attention was drawn to the matter, he discovered that the issue was before the court.
Besides, the lawmaker had not found time to meet with the parties with the intention to urge withdrawal of the matter from the court and resolve it amicably.
Consequently, he pleaded with the disputants that the Assembly was preoccupied with the responsibility of approving the state budget and asked for extension of time to enable him look into the matter.
However, much to the chargrin of the Deputy Speaker, some journalists have been calling his line, alleging from some of the disputants of his complicity in the matter.
The statement noted that since the Deputy Speaker had no involvement in the matter except as stated, the disputants should desist from using his office to name drop on the matter as such would not be treated with levity.
The statement then warned all the disputants, Vam Onne Nigeria Limited, Marine Platform and some sacked staff of the two companies to stop forthwith any attempts at blackmailing him with a view to dragging his name in the mire, or be ready to face the consequences of their actions.
