Customs Nets N464m As Revenue – Area Controller
The Sokoto Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service generated over N464 million in the 2011 fiscal year, the Area Controller, Alhaji Mustapha Atiku, has announced.
Atiku told newsmen in Sokoto that the area command had targeted N360 for the year but had surpassed the figure.
He said the command would continue to put in place measures to prevent smuggling activities in the area.
Atiku also called on border communities in the area to complement the efforts of the area command by giving useful information that could lead to arrest and prosecution of smugglers.
The Sokoto Command of the customs comprise Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.
He said the area command was determined to prevent smuggling in the area, and called on border communities to provide it with information that would lead to the arrest of smugglers.
