Serero To Miss Bafana’s Friendlies
Despite some European Leagues going into a winter recess soon, Pitso Mosimane won’t necessarily be able to call up some of his players based there for Bafana Bafana’s proposed January friendlies.
For one, he won’t be able to call Thulani Serero for the unconfirmed friendlies against India, Zambia and Ghana on 7-, 11- and 14 January, 2012.
That is because Ajax Amsterdam have announced that they will be travelling to Brazil for a week during their winter break. The Frank de Boer-coached team will be based in Sao Paulo from 7-15 January 2012 and will play Palmeiras on 14 January 2012.
The Dutch League plays it’s last round of fixtures for 2011 on December 18.
Ajax host ADO Den Haag on that day but will actually be in action three days later against AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Cup and will face the same opponents in the New Year when the League resumes on January 22.
