Chairman Tasks NBBF On Rebuilding Team
Chairman Dolphin Basketball Foundation, Wole Aboderin, in Lagos advised the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) to go back to the drawing board in rebuilding the national team.
Aboderin told the Tidesports that the way and manner the sport was being handled presently was wrong and that there was need to reverse the trend.
“The part we are going is not working, I am tired of saying we put up an honourable showing, when we have the talent and the ability to do better.
“Therefore, go back to the drawing board and start again, take time out, forget that your are building something, build your house from the foundation, build it up.“
Aboderin also suggested that there should be an improved programme to better the development of the sport in the country.
“You have to go and play against teams that will beat you, that will flog you, but you must be determined to come back and beat them.
“You don’t go and play teams that you have beaten, and therefore say we are ready. It can never be so.“
Aboderin said he had always advocated for grassroots sports development so as to identify and nurture latent talent to stardom.
