Falsification In Civil Service Worries RSG
The Rivers State Government says it is worried over the high incidence of falsification of documents by civil servants in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Establishments, Training and Pension Bureau, office of the Head of Service, Governor’s Office, Sir Chima Ake, said this while declaring open a two weeks refresher course for executive officers in the state.
Sir Ake said that the practice is capable of creating an untimely exist from the service for those who indulge in it.
While condemning the attitude of some civil servants who promoted themselves to enhance their salaries, the permanent secretary warned that all those who are involved in such practices would be severely dealt with according to laid down rules.
He, however, regretted that the act is being committed by the executive class, and urged them to guide against acts that run contrary to the norms of the service, while displaying good behaviours at all times.
Sir. Ake also urged them not to aid and abetl fraud in the service, urging them to be worthy ambassadors of the bureau, wherever they are posted to serve.
In his speech, the director of training and management services in the bureau, Mr. Chinda Weli (JP) advised the participants to take the course serious as that would earn them promotion, in the service.
