Coach Warns Against Poaching
Bode Ajayi, the chief coach Table Tennis, in Ekiti State, has advised coaches and sports managers to always groom and train athletes from grassroots and not poach in every sports festival.
Ajayi gave the advice in an exclusive interview with sports writers, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, saying that most coaches are becoming too lazy to do their statutory duties, in terms of scouting for hidden talents. He explained that Ekiti did not register male competition in the event, because all their male players have completed their festival appearance.
“I had the opportunity and previlage to poach many players, but i dont want, because i really wanted players that i trained to come for festival he said. The Chief Coach expressed optimism that his players (females) will clinch all the gold medals in that category, because they are determined and technically sound.
