Rivers Wins Outstanding Award
Rivers State has won the state Co-ordinators Outstanding Award of the Neighbour to Neighbour for Transformation mobilisation for having campaigned vigourously for the election of President Goodluck Jonathan during the April presidential elections.
The Rivers State Co-ordinator of Neigbour to Neighbour for Transformation, Barrister Daddy West on whose auspices the state was honoured told The Tide in an interview in Port Harcourt that the award signified God’s hands in the affairs of the state and the efforts made by the various co-ordinators of the body in the state in delivering President Jonathan at the polls.
West, while reacting to the special recognition accorded Rivers State at the event noted that the award was an attestation of collective will of Rivers people in ensuring that President Jonathan emerged victorious at the polls.
While dedicating the award to God and the various co-ordinators of the organisation in the 23 local government areas of the State, West expressed pleasure that President Jonathan commands acceptability all over the country and assured that the goodies promised by the President during his electioneering campaigns would in no distant time start manifesting. The state co-ordinator was optimistic that President Jonathan would deliver and urged members of Neighbour-to-Neighbour to keep the flag of transformation flying.
The institution of this award, he said was a wake up call for other Nigerians who are not part of the group to join the transformation train, adding that the attitude of President Jonathan towards governance was a clear indication that his presidency would be a huge success.
West also gave the administration of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi a pat on the back for transforming Rivers State, stressing that the governor’s good works had warmed him into the hearts of Rivers people.
