Delta To Establish Fertilizer Industry, Refinery
A fertilizer production industry that has the capacity to employ several thousands of workers is to be established in Ndokwa-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, who announced this while campaigning to the people of Ndokwa-West at Ugilli-Amai, disclosed that a refinery will also be established at Abam.
Dr Uduaghan said the oil being produced in Ndokwa land will be refined in the new refinery when completed.
He said that both the refinery and the new fertilizer industry have the potential of employing about 300,000 workers.
Explaining that the gas being flared will, among other things, be used as raw materials for the fertilizer industry, Dr Uduaghan said the fertilizer industry is ear marked for Ndokwa because the people are great farmers.
He thus expressed the hope that they will take advantage of the industry to increase production and improve their living standard.
“When we establish the fertilizer industry, it will boost your income and turn your lives around”, the Governor said.
The Governor reiterated his call on stakeholders in the education sector to help his administration in monitoring the cancellation of some fees in Post Primary Institutions.
Uduaghan noted that some school heads were still collecting fees abolished and charged parents not to pay any of such fees, explaining that if school heads insist, they should go to such school and protest.
“Do not allow school heads to deceive you. Do not pay NECO or WAEC fees and if school heads demand such fees, tell them I said you should not pay”, he said.
The senator representing Delta North, Chief Patrick Osakwe promised that PDP will sweep polls in the area during the April elections.
Chief Osakwe also promised that he will work hard so that PDP will win the senatorial seat and he will hand over the baton to Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
He said PDP has won in the area three times and will also win in the April elections.
