Candidate Pledges To Improve Rural Communities, If …
A House of Assembly candidate under the banner of All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP), Mr Emina Bioghoema has attributed lack of development in the rural areas of Bayelsa State to ineffective representation, saying that if voted for, in the forthcoming general election in April,he will make the difference.
Bioghoema said a vibrant Assembly of the peoples ‘representatives is the key to the even growth and development of the rural communities, but regretted that many of the lawmakers had failed to improve the lots of the rural people.
In an interview with newsmen in Yenagoa, he said the present state of rural communities today is a testimony to the fact that many of those who were elected to represent them are only pursuing their personal purposes at the Assembly.
Bioghoemu, who is also the state secretary of the ANPP, noted that only a vibrant and efficient representation could transform the living condition of the people at the grass root and provide them with the much-needed voice to be heard.
According to him, “The House of Assembly is a supposed to be the driving centre for democratic dividend for the rural people. It is incumbent on the lawmakers in our state Assembly to on a regular basis, consult with the people and know their needs and aspirations.
He promised to bring his wealth of experience to bear if given the mandate to represent his constituency, also said he would sponsor a motion that would make the lawmakers accountable to their failures to deliver on their obligations to the people.
The ANPP House of Assembly flag bearer disclosed that he would target a massive youth empowerment programme for the youths in the constituency through a productive skill acquisition with a financial grant to enable the beneficiary set up a business venture.
