Rivers Perm Secs Commiserate With HOS
The Forum of Permanent Secretaries in the Rivers State Civil Service has commiserated with the Head of Service, Mrs. Esther Anucha on the death of her mother, Ezinne Mabel Ibra Obowu.
In a condolence visit on the Head of Service, the Chairman of the Forum, Dame Mina Benebo who spoke on behalf of the permanent secretaries, expressed her heartfelt grief on the loss of her mother at a time her motherly advice and comfort were most needed.
Dame Benebo, who is also the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, said death was an inevitable end for every mortal and urged the Head of Service to take solace in the fact that her mother had lived a fulfilled life, assuring her of their support at this difficult time.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Rufus Godwins thanked God for the life of her mother who had lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation, and urged the Head of Service to be strong and courageous. He said that the Almighty God would give her the grace sufficient enough to bear the loss.
Responding, the Head of Service, Mrs. Esther Anucha thanked them for identifying with her in her time of grief, noting that her mother had been a pillar of support and an embodiment of love to her and her siblings.
She solicited their continued prayers and urged them to be part of the final burial rites scheduled between 25 and 26th February.
In the same vein, members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission have also sympathised with the Head of Service over the death of her mother.
The Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Ben Orugbani, who expressed shock at the news of the death of her mother, urged Mrs. Anucha to be of great courage, adding that God knew why it happened at this time.
In their separate speeches, Chief T.J. Krukrubo, Hon. Gogo Ofiaja and the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Godwin Mpi urged her to take solace in the fact that her mother lived a Godly life worthy of celebration, praying that God in His infinite mercies would receive her soul in paradise.
Late Ezinne Mabel Ibra Obowu, a devout Christian mother of the Anglican Communion, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the age of 95.
