2011: Group Pledges To Fight Thuggery, Voilence
The Peoples Democratic Cove Supporters Network (PCSN) says it is ready to battle against political thuggery and electoral violence during the 2011 general election to guarantee a free and fair polls.
The Rivers State Coordinator of the PCSN, Hon Chinda Ogbuji Evans, stated this Wednesday in Port Harcourt shortly after Governor Amaechi declared his intention to govern Rivers People for the second time.
Evans, who is also the Board of Trustee, Rivers Youth Movement (RYM) said that the group was committed in re-moulding the minds of the people especially the youths toward flushing out violence and thuggery in the electoral system.
according to him, Nigeria is fed-up with violence and crisis during election, hoping that time has come for the country to USA in election matters.
He noted that the group plans to carry out house-to-house sensitization campaign before 2011 general election.
Also speaking, the media Director of the group, Princewill Ajumogobia and the director of political Education and strategy. Prof. Lawrence Igwe, said that the PDP would sweep polls come next year.
The duo noted that Amaechi’s declaration last Wednesday was a clear indication of how far the party would go in 2011.
Hon. Aselemi Egbono, a top notches of the PCSN said that the opposition in the pitters PDP mere only existing in the minds of those he said do not think well for the state.
Egbono, advised other PDP credible aspirants to pitch their tents with Governor Amaechi in order to join the winning team.
Earlier, the PCSN coordinator has thanked PCSN and RYM members as well as the entire Rivers people for attending the Governor’s declaration in their numbers and solicited the cooperation of all well-meaning Rivers people to actualise the total change taking place in the state.
