Pilgrims Board Releases Travel Schedule
Rivers State Pilgrims Welfare Board has released this year’s travel schedule for all intending pilgrims to the Holy Land, Israel.
All Pilgrims have been batched with the first, second and third batches to travel on December 11, 12 and 14 while the remaining batches are to be assigned dates later by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Abuja.
A statement by the Chairman, Rivers State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Very Reverend Mossignor John Wangbu advised all to pay special attention to the progressive release of dates of travel, and any pilgrim designed to be on standby on a particular date must be at the airport on that day.
“Accordingly, it is compulsory that all must travel as scheduled, as the Board would not be liable for missing of chance by any pilgrim,” he said.
The statement added that transportation to the airport one ach travel date would be available at Corpus Christi Cathedral, Kaduna Street, Port Harcourt, Aba Expressway at 10:00a.m.
Meanwhile, a compulsory biometric finger print exercise for all pilgrims has commenced at the Board’s office and pregnancy test for women also started.
The board said all pilgrims proven to be medically unfit would be dropped even at the point of departure, adding that international passport of pilgrim is required for identification purposes.
