Bayelsa Reacts To Spate Of Bomb Explosions
The Bayelsa State Government has urged residents not to be disillusioned because of the spate of explosions in parts of the state capital.
The Tide’s source reports that the Overseer of the state’s Ministry of Information, Strategy and Orientation, Mr Nathan Egba, made the remarks in Yenagoa last Saturday.
He advised residents of the state to continue to support the government.
Egba said the increasing spate of explosions was part of orchestrated plans to cause confusion and make the state ungovernable.
He said that security agents had taken necessary measures to arrest the situation.
He said the target of the recent explosion were property belonging to the Deputy Speaker, Mr Nestor Binabo, Mr Imomotimi Fanama and other lawmakers.
The overseer said that government was aware that the ultimate goal of the perpetrators was for the Federal Government to declare state of emergency in the state.
He assured that government had the political will to deal decisively with the situation.
Egba also warned that government would not tolerate the spilling of innocent blood for whatever reason but would continue to initiate programmes that would better the lots of the people.
He also called on residents of the state to consolidate on the gains achieved by Gov. Timipre Sylva rather than destroying them.
