MTN Plan N2bn Support For Disable People
In order to achieve its objectives on Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative in the area of support for people with disabilities, the MTN Foundation (MTNF) has proposed to spend N2 billion by 2010.
This was disclosed by Mr. Akinwale Goodluck, Corporate Services Executive, MTN at the presentation ceremony of 406 aids and appliance for qualified person with disabilities in its first phase of the 5,000 that would be donated across the 36 states of the country, including Abuja.
He said, though a lot of money has been spent on the Disability Support Project (DSP) for this year, the foundation intends to spend N2 billion in its series of initiatives which would include empowerment process designed to make life comfortable for the less privileged in the country.
Goodluck stated that the execution of the aids and appliances to 406 beneficiaries in Lagos is part of the first phase which would be conducted in 11 states, while the second and third phases which will take place in 2010 will include 12 and 13 states respectively.
