Atiku Due Port Harcourt ’Morrow
The immediate past vice president, and the Turaki of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will arrive the Rivers State Capital, Port Harcourt tomorrow on official assignment.
Alhaji Atiku, who is also the national leader of the Action Congress (AC) will in addition honour an invitation by the organisers of the ION International film festival scheduled for 10th to 12th December, this year.
In a statement by the publicity secretary of AC in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuma Eze the former vice president is expected to arrive at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa on Thursday morning where he will be received by the Rivers State Action Congress (AC) leader, Prince Tonye Princewill and leadership of the party in the state.
Ahaji Atiku, according to the press statement dated yesterday, 08/12/09 will also commission the new ultra-modern secretariat of AC, Rivers State acquired by Prince Princewill.
The Tide gathered that the new ultra modern office is being furnished with up to date technology with the aim to serve and reposition the opposition party in the state for greater challenges ahead.
Chief Eze Chukwu Emeka further stated that the national leadership of the party will hold a consultative meeting with the leadership of the organised opposition parties in Rivers State on how to unite into a greater force that will restore democratic values in the democratic experiment of the people.
The National Leader of AC will thereafter attend the opening of the ION film festival scheduled for the Port Harcourt club in company of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.
Meanwhile, the leader of AC in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill has said that the former vice president’s visit to Rivers State apart from the ION international film festival is largely aimed at motivating and mobilising Rivers State AC to attend the forth coming AC National Convention slated for Lagos on 12th December, this year.
