Youth Leader Harps On Patience With NDDC
Youth in the Niger Delta region have been urged to work in partnership with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in order to achieve the common goal of developing the region.
The call was made in Port Harcourt over the weekend by the National President of Niger Delta Youth Front, Prince Duduke Ebitimi (Jnr).
The youth leader said the new leadership of the commission under the Managing Director of Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha has convincing commitment particularly on the areas of youth development, Education and development of the rural communities and advised the youths to work peace fully with the management.
Prince Ebitimi condemned incessant harraassment of the commission’s management in its corporate head office by some youths of the region over sentimental issues.
He called on the youths to acquint themselves with the programmes of the commission so as to know the best way to key in and benefit from the youth programmes.
The youth leader said the rumoured cancellation of water Hycinth contract and transformer installation contracts could be borne out of sheer sentiment in view of the reality on ground stressing the need for youths to confirm what they hear from the commission’s management to avoid being misled by mischievous people.
Prince Ebitimi further noted that youth bodies should organize themselves orderly during courtesy visits to the commission to correct people’s impression that youths of the region are impatience.
He commended Rivers State Government for nominating Mr. Ugwoha’s disposition for the position of managing director and expressed full confidence in his ability to deliver desired services to the region.
