The event would tap the latent treasures of tourism in the region. It will provide employment opportunities for the people of the Niger Delta as tourism is noted for providing employment to people”, he stated.
According to him, the event is designed to provide a plat- form necessary to achieve a lasting peace in the Niger Delta region, adding that there is need to compliment the post amnesty programme of the federal government.
He further explained that the event would be used to correct the negative impressions people hold against the region and added that the people of the region have natural endowments.
