Coach Unveils Final Squad For IHF U-18 W’Cup
Nigeria’s Women U-18 Handball team head coach, Adewunmi Shittu, on Monday released his final list of players that will represent the country at the 10th edition of the IHF Women’s U-18 Handball Championship in China.
Shittu announced the squad shortly before the team’s departure for China from the Muritala International Airport, Lagos, on Monday via Egypt Air to have arrived in Chuzhou, the venue of the competition on yesterday.
Captain Esther Mathew and the Babatunde twins earned their places alongside the Samuel sisters, while one of the Muhammad sisters made the cut.
Left-back Amarachi Oparaugo and Pivot Damilola Akinlade were also included in the final list.
Also, Igbenedion Blessing, Onyekwere Lucy, Ogbusimba Chidera, Muhammad Amina, Okolo Joan, Bello Rahima, and Izuoba Ijeoma all made the squad.
Nigeria will begin their campaign against Croatia on today and take on Montenegro the next day before facing continental rivals Angola for their final group game on Saturday.
