Rivers Angels Face Queens’ Hurdles, Today
Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt will take on Tokas Queens FC of Lagos today in the 2012 Women Professional Football League.
The match which is expected to be played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos is one of the week eight matches that will be played across the countries at various venues.
The Assistant Coach of the Angels, Whyte Ogbondah who made this known in an exclusive interview with the Tidesports recently in Port Harcourt said that the directive was given by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) due to the brief break of the league matches occasioned by the absence of key players of various clubs.
He assured that Rivers Angels are prepared for the week eight match as they had tied up all loosed ends to ensure a successful outing.
“In spite of the short break we have not relented in our daily training because we have a target to achieve this season and there is no turning back on our goal to secure the league tile and the FA Cup”, he said.
Ogbondah maintained that the team will be fighting for an outright win when they meet their host today as to further cement the team’s grounds on the league.
Meanwhile, the club is presently on 18 points from seven matches played so far, having won six matches and drawn one.
