‘Dolphins, Sharks Need Fresh Legs’
The Director of the Real Club Deportivo (RCD) Espanyol Academy Spain, Port Harcourt branch, Stanley Wariso, has reiterated his earlier view that the aging players in both the state owned football clubs, Dolphins and Sharks FC should be replaced.
Wariso stated this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the clubs need fresh legs to continue making progress saying that, if fresh blood are injected into the clubs, it will definitely enhance their performances and improve the standard of the clubs as well,
He told Tidesports that there were lots of young players in the state who deserve a chance to prove themselves both at state and national levels.
There are young players who are ready to prove themselves, they are only awaiting the opportunity to do so. They would prove themselves beyond reasonable doubts should they be given the chance, he said.
Meanwhile, the RCD team played a 2-2 draw with the Flying Eagles, in a recent friendly game in Abuja.
The team also played a 1-1 draw with the Super Eagles in another friendly match.
Wariso, further said that his academy boasts of players who can fit in well in any of the Nigerian Premier League, NPL, clubs and the National Youths teams.
“If we can hold the Flying Eagles to a 1-1 draw, then, I think we are due for call ups,” the Espanyol Director said.
