How We Rejected Oil Bloc Bribes To Impeach Amaechi -RSHA

Twenty-five out of the 31 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly said they proved their integrity and sincerity to good governance by rejecting the Presidency’s promises including oil blocs as bribes to impeach the Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Otelemaba Dan Amachree – disclosed this Saturday at All Progressive Congress (APC) rally held at the 40,000- seater Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta-Ali Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
Speaking on behalf of the 25-lawmakers Rt. Hon. Amachree stated that the governor had brought change to the State and transformed democracy where the wishes of the people are recognized in the state.
“We the 25 lawmakers out of the 31 members are solidly behind you no challenges what-so ever will make us change our supports to you and the party (APC). “We were promised a lot of things, some of us were even promised oil blocs to impeach (you) Governor Amaechi, but we refused, we said no to them, because we believe in the truth and transparency, which you our amiable Governor reflected”.
Speaking on behalf of the Nigeria labour Congress (NLC) Rivers State Chapter, Dr. Chris Oruge maintained that labour is committed to show appreciation to Governor Amaechi’s excellent performance in the 2015 election in Rivers State.
He said, Governor Amaechi has performed very well and Rivers – Workers are overwhelmed.
The Chairman of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) Rivers State Chapter, Comrade Chika Onuegbu said, the union’s support to Governor Amaechi is on the fact that, he is a listening and performing governor.
He said, members of the union are unanimously agreed to support APC come 2015 election to maintain change in the state.
