Chairman of the electrification committee in the area, Mr Simon Nwuzi, commended the Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, for keeping to his election promises to the people of the area.
He expressed satisfaction that inspite of the constraints that resulted in decay, the project was successfully delivered to the people before the expiration of the present administration.
A woman leader, Comfort Onyema, said Okudu people were happy that inspite of neglect by past administrations in the state at last, the area is today counted amongst areas with electricity in Etche local government area.
“The entire women are grateful to the present administration for carrying us along in the scheme of things,” she said.
Onyema counted the project as an enduring legacy of the Amaechi government, noting that children yet unborn would come to see and know the good things the government has done for us.”
A youth leader in the community, ThankGod Oluoh, also expressed the excitement of youths saying,” at first, Governor Amaechi’s administration constructed a road, and this time, he has also provided us with electricity. The youths lack words to express their gratitude to the governor.”
