Fake Hand Sanitisers: NOA Raises Alarm
As part of efforts to combat the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease in Rivers State, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has warned the public to beware of fake hand sanitizers in the state.
The Chief Orientation and Mobilisation Officer in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Mrs Rosemary Abbey-Hart who gave the warning during a two-day sensitization workshop in Port Harcourt urged the public to buy only sanitizers with 60 per cent alcohol content.
Mrs Abbey Hart said that sanitizers with 60 per cent alcohol content have been proven to be more effective than others; she also coutioned the public against public display of corpses, stressing that contact with an infected corpse could expose an individual to the virus.
Mrs Abbey-Hart also urged the participants comprising Christian and Moslem leaders to also discourage their members from stigmatizing and alienating Ebola victims in their midst.
