Service Of Songs For Late Phalga Mayor Holds Today
The service of songs for
the late Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council, Hon Charles Paul Ejekwu has been slated for today, Friday August 29th 2014 at the St Thomas Anglican Church, Diobu Port Harcourt from 6pm to 8pm.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the publicity committee Chairman and member, Caretaker Committee of PHALGA, Hon. Mrs Nancy Stephens-Ijaopo on behalf of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Council.
The statement also disclosed that the body of the late Mayor will leave the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital on Saturday, August 30th , 2014, en-route Port Harcourt City Local Government Council headquarters to be received by the management and staff of the council, where all past councillors of the council will conduct a mock session in his honour.
According to the statement, the body of the late mayor will also be taken to the Rivers State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress for a brief stop-over before it will finally arrive his family house for lying in state and to be received by the Chiefs and Elders of Rumuwoji Community.
The late Mayor will be interred at his family house same day, after an interdenominational funeral service at St Thomas Anglican Church, Diobu.
The late politician and sports administrator died on Wednesday, 13th August, 2014.
