CLO Tasks Contractor On Quality Jobs
The Community
Liason Officer, (CLO), of Odaga, in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr George Ben has called on the Rivers State Ministry of Works to intensify the routine inspection of roads project in the state.
Mr Ben who stated this while speaking to our correspondent in Abua recently said the segment of the on-going Ayama/Odaga/Omelema road project was below standard.
According to him, the contractor handling the project, Gulf Pole Concerns Limited was using Sub-Standard materials in the construction of the road.
He said the poor work was making the road deplorable already thereby exposing users to danger.
The CLO also called on the ministry of works inspectors to be pro-active in checking the activities of construction firms especially at the rural level.
He further urged contractors to adhere and imbibe the principles of civil engineering specifications in order to justify the huge sums government spends on road constructions.
According to him, in order to actualise the present administration’s transformation agenda of governor Chibuike Amaechi, contractors should be held liable for poor job delivery.
However before going to press the contractor, Gulf Pole Concerns Ltd could not be reached for comments.
