Commissioner Applauds Amaechi’s Wife On Empowerment
The Rivers State Commissioner for Lands and Survey Chief Ezemonye Ezekiel-Amadi, has called on the wife of the Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi not to relent in her effort to empower Rivers women and youth.
He made this known in his goodwill message during the Rivers First Lady’s visit to Ikwerre Local Government Area.
Ezekiel-Amadi noted that empowerment was the best option in fighting poverty and joblessness in the society.
The Commissioner stated the need for Mrs Amaechi to ignore the actions of those he described as noise-makers, saying they have nothing tangible to offer.
According to him, those at the other side of the fence, are not only enemies of the state but are bent on suffocating the future of even the unborn generation.
It would be recalled that Mrs Amaechi was at the Kelga council’s headquarters Isiokpo for an empowerment programme through her pet project, the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI).
Some stakeholders who spoke with The Tide, said that the Commissioner has supported the Amaechi-led government through enforcement in almost all the 13 wards of the Ikwerre local government.
They also described him (Ezemonye) as empowerment “bulldozer” following the rate at which he has empowered his people.
They called on the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, to prevail on those politicians who are yet to reach out to the people to do so in the interest of posterity.
Meanwhile, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kelga, Hon. Chibuike Ikenga, has reiterated his determination to be supportive of the present administration in the state.
Earlier, he has promised to spread empowerment among his people in a bid to alleviate their suffering.
