Brotherhood Leader Warns Against Another Civil War
Leader, Brotherhood of
the Cross and Star, Olumba Olumba Obu, has decried the situation in the country and urged stakeholders to ensure that another civil war does not break out.
Obu, who spoke when he played host to dignitaries and adherents from many states of Nigeria that thronged his Brotherhood of the Cross and Star headquarters in Calabar, last Sunday, said the situation in the country was not healthy and could lead to a civil war.
The spiritual leader said he had foreseen how heavy war arsenal had been amassed by those orchestrating the impending war, which he said would not be compared with the three-year Biafra War led by the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu.
He called on his faithful and other Nigerians to pray fervently, and beseeched God to mercifully intervene and save the country.
“I have seen yet another civil war breaking out in Nigeria. Those I can see involved in plotting it have amassed heavy armament to prosecute it.
“Members of Brotherhood and Nigerians should pray fervently for God’s merciful intervention, otherwise this one would be more devastating. The good thing is that The Father is here,” he said.
Obu cautioned those fanning embers of hatred, violence, pogrom and terrorism in the country to desist, saying they are directly fighting God.
He said politicians and other Nigerians should forgive themselves, shun tribalism and emphasise love for one another.
A retired Navy Officer who preferred not to be mentioned said Nigerians should do everything possible to avert war and “pray that we do not see war again in our lifetime”.
