Ekpo Tasks Eagles On Creative Midfield
A former Super Eagles
Midfielder, Friday Ekpo, has advised the Super Eagles to be more creative in the midfield at the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Ekpo, who gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Lagos, urged the players to play according to the instructions of Coach Stephen Keshi.
“They need to play according to Keshi’s plan; it’s very necessary because failure to do that can mar the team’s chances at the competition.
“Our players should also be self-disciplined; tempers will rise, players will be frustrated but they should have self-control on the field of play.
“We need our midfielder to be creative; they need to know how to hold onto the ball before distributing it.
“The moment the midfielder can display these traits, we are good to go,” Ekpo said.
On his expectations, the former Iwuanyanwu Nationale of Owerri player, said that Nigerians expected the Eagles to perform creditably at the tournament.
“In as much as we want them to perform, we should not put much pressure on the players. We should have faith in them,’’ he said.
