Jets Recruit 22 Players
Coach Donald Malomo-Paris of Mighty Jets of Jos says the club has recruited 22 new players in the mid-season transfer window of the Nigerian National League (NNL).
Malomo-Paris told newsmen in Jos that the recruitment was to overhaul the team for better performance.
According to the head coach, the club’s aim is to be promoted to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) otherwise called Globacom Premier League at the end of the 2013/2014 season.
“The management has resolved to turn around the fortunes of the club by overhauling the team to make it more competitive and difficult to beat.
“Virtually all the departments had been touched as there were defenders, midfielders, strikers and goalkeepers.
“And what we are doing now is to get the team working and I can assure you that the team is getting better with every game,’’ Malomo-Paris said.
The former TEAP FC of Abuja handler expressed satisfaction with his new side’s 3-0 victory over his old side (TEAP FC).
Ndala Ibrahim put Jets ahead of the visitors in the 3rd minute, while Robert Eche and Promise Onu scored second half goals to put the scoreline at 3-0.
The victory was the second out of the three matches since Malomo-Paris took over as head coach in May.
He, however, said that there was still room for improvement.
Malomo-Paris appealed to the club’s fans to be patient, adding that the club would not betray the confidence reposed in it.
“I am appealing to the fans to be patient with the club.
“The players are gradually blending and the results they are expecting from us will soon be coming both at away and home matches,’’ he added.
