Minister Canvasses Support For Eagles
Minister of Sports and
Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Tamuno Danagogo, has called on Nigerians to support Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the release of the provisional list of players, adding that what remains is for the team to commence proper preparations for the tourney.
“It is good that he has named a provisional squad and I plead with Nigerians to give him the maximum co-operation in the discharge of his duties,” he pleaded.
“What remains now is for the technical crew to begin serious preparation so that the players put in their best when the competition kicks off next month.”
Danagogo, however, urged Keshi to pick only the best from the bunch when making his final selection for the mundial.
“After the training sessions, I will advise Keshi and his team to ensure that the final 23 players to represent the country are picked without bias or sentiments.
“They must ensure that only the best players at all times are selected to represent the country,” the Minister said.
