Dame Amaechi Urges Re-Orientation Of Youths
Wife of the Rivers State
Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi has called for re-orientation of the Nigerian youths to make them self reliant and economically independent.
She said this strategy was the surest way of curbing increasing cases of violence and restiveness in the country.
Dame Judith Amaechi stated this recently, during the 53rd birth celebration of Mr Dickson Omunakwe, Commissioner for Special Duties at Marilac home for Street Children in Diobu Port Harcourt.
Governor Amaechi’s wife who was represented by the wife of the Speaker, Mrs Gilda Otelemaba Dan-Amachree said the continuous neglect of indigent children is a major cause of societal challenges.
She said that Nigerians must begin to treat children equitably and chart a path of honour that will advance their aspiration in life.
Earlier in his speech, the celebrant, Dickson Omunakwe said he was inspired by the Governor’s wife’s passion for the less-privileged children to celebrate with the children.
He said his birthday celebration at the Marilec Home for Street Children would encourage the children to aspire to greater heights.
