claimed movie, Half Of A Yellow Sun was recently premiered in Nigeria. The event put Lagos in a festive mood as Chiwetel Ejiofor and his fellow co-stars stormed Lagos for the premiere of the thrilling motion picture.
The film’s highly acclaimed director, Biyi Bandele and its award winning producer, Andrea Calderwood were also in Lagos with cast of stars which include O.C. Ukeje Tina Mba, Gloria Young, Genevieve Nnaji, Onyeka Onwene Richard Ofodile, Naya Amobi and the films director Biyi Bandele.
It was gathered that the Nigeria’s first Hollywood-style movie premiere witnessed the largest-ever assembly of Hollywood and Nollywood director Biyi Bandele.
Half of a Yellow Sun is a beautifully crafted adaptation of the internationally acclaimed adaptation of the international best seller by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
It is showing at cinemas nation wide including Silver Bird Cinemas. Chiwetel Ejiofor in a recent press interview described Half Of A Yellow Sun as an international story, it has its implications and its relevance across the world.
He went further to reveal that it was the then Biafra war that led to his birth in movie. Inarguably this is the highest budgeted movie in Nigeria and for the first time ever the movie has a billionaire’s box office members Chiwetel and Queen of Box office in Nigeria Genevieve together in a movie.
The 10 Million Dollar film was produced in Nigeria and also brought Hollywood and Nollywood together which has given the film industry an international footing.
The movie which was shot in Tinapa, Calabar was directed by UK based play right, Biyi Bandele who dwelt more in the theme of love rather than violence.

This is not of his making, the chances of getting any education and may be clawing his way out of the situation is zero to unlikely at best, but after the murder of his brother, George, sets out to not allow his brother’s dream die.
Along the way, he gets entangled with the stunningly beautiful scarlet (Omotola). It is an exceptionally and emotionally charged and thought provoking movie.
