2015: Rivers Youth Mobilise For APC
As the 2015 general elections
draw close, youths in Rivers State under the auspices of the Patriotic Youths Leadership Network, a political pressure group have declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and vowed to mobilise for the party’s electoral victory in 2015.
The position of the body was made known by the President, Comrade Emmanuel Orgwu at Bori, headquarters of Khana LGA, during a mini congress and familiaration visit to Ogoni.
Comrade Orgwu said the body was impressed with the leadership style of the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi, who is the leader of the APC in Rivers State.
He coutioned Rivers youths against subtle plots by some politicians to use them to achieve selfish political gains.
Comrade Orgwu said, the body which was rooted in the 23 LGAs in the state, was poised to use its grassroots involvement to work towards the enthronement of a more participatory and credible electoral process in 2015.
In his remark, the vice president of the body Comrade Ezekiel Baekee, said the vision of the body was to support and protect good governance and urged Rivers youth. To participate actively in political process that would guarantee their future.
