Hoopers Promise To Reclaim Basketball Title
Former champions,
Royal Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt, have promised to strive to reclaim the DStv Men’s Basketball League title when the 2013, 2014 season dunks off.
Royal Hoopers lost the title they won in the 2011/2012 season in the 2012/2013 regular seasons after placing fifth in the league’s log.
Kano Pillars emerged the 2012/2013 champions having competed with Union Bank of Lagos, Mark Mentors of Abuja and Dodan Warriors of Lagos in the National Final Four last September.
Pillars and Mentors qualified from the Savanna Conference, while Union Bank and Warriors qualified from the Atlantic for the final four in Lagos.
Hoopers’ Head Coach, Ogor Odaudu, told newsmen on telephone that he was confident about his team’s capability to win the league which starts on February 28.
“This season, Hoopers will parade a rejuvenated team comprising quality players that will deliver laurels.
“We are set to achieve the feat we are known for, which is the season’s title. We are thinking seriously about this and we are confident of getting it,” Odaudu said.
