RSUST Resumes Academic Activities … Promotes 3 Lecturers
The Rivers State University of Science and Technology has resumed academic activities for the 2009-2010 session. Following this, the first semester examination had commenced on 11th January, 2010 under a peaceful atmosphere.
While returning students are busy preparing and taking their first semester examinations, fresh students who have been offered admission are proceeding for their clearance and registration.
In a related development, the governing council of the university has approved the promotion of three staff of the university to the rank of professors.
According to a statement signed by the acting registrar of the university, Mrs Daba Odimabo stated that the staff promoted to the rank of professors are Dr Seth Accra-Jaja in the Department of Management, and Dr I.K.C Ekweozo (Applied and Environment Biology), while Dr M.N. Koko is of Business Education.
Other staff promoted from senior lecturers to the rank of readers are Dr A.E Allison-Oguru, (Agricultural Economics and Extension), Dr D.I Hamilton (management), Dr N.H Ukoima (Agriculture and Dr H.B. Mepba (Food, Science and Technology).
The document, further stated that the promotion was approved by the governing council of the university on the 22nd of December, 2009, based on the recommendations from the appointments and promotions committee (Academics) of the university.
