Nigeria Gets New Visa Hall In UK
Nigeria has commissioned the new visa hall in the United Kingdom (UK) which the country started constructing since last year.
The development would obviously make passport seekers and visa applicants in the UK who had to go through traumatic experience to get their visa.
The commissioning of the state – of-the-art 120 seating capacity hall is in fulfillment of the numerous promises made by the commission to make the hall more user-friendly and embark on comprehensive reforms of the immigration and consular services.
At the ceremony, which was well attended by Nigerians in diaspora the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the UK, Dr Dalhatu Sarki Tafida noted that the renovation of the Visa Hall in particular, and the entire commission in general was due to positive comments and commendations of many Nigerians, applicants and unbiased observers.
He said, despite the renovations, new equipment, staff redeployment, reshufflement and hiring of new hands going on in the High Commission, they still recognised that a lot still needed to be done to perfect the system.
Tafida assured that the commission would continue to fine-tune its internal processes and mechanism to further reduce waiting period and enhance quality of services.
“We will no longer experience delays in the processing of passports, visa and other services.
“The incidence of touting has been drastically reduced and Nigerians no longer have the need to patronise them in the light of ease with which they can now access our services”, the High Commissioner said.
