Ghana To Kick-Start Offshore Conference …NNPC, Shell, Others To Attend
The Ghana National
Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) says it has concluded arrangements to host the 2014 edition of the offshore West Africa Conference and exhibition.
The Tide online source, gathered that the meeting would be attended by over 40 leading industry speakers who would share insights in the opportunities and challenges to develop West Africa’s expanding offshore potential.
It was also learnt that the keynote address would be delivered by Ghanian Acting Chief Executive GNPC, Mr Alexander Mould.
According to the source, the programme is expected to last three days, beginning from Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Accra, Ghana.
Other key speakers at the event, include the Ghanaian, Minister of Energy/Petroleum, Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah and representatives from Shell Nigeria, Tullow & Exxon Mobil.
Furthermore, the programme will also treat the issue of local content, that would be handled by GNPC, Petroleum Commission Ghana, Schlumberger and Petan.
Regional Trend and Challenges, Field Development, Floating Production Systems, Deep-water, exploration and Subsea Intervention will be among the issues to be discussed.
The source, also hinted that the conference intend to cover the Lacuna in flowlines and pipelines, well construction and drilling operation as well as operations and logistics.
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Total E&P Nigeria, Chevron Relentech Specialists Nigeria Limited, are in the list of oil companies that will participate in the Accra offshore conference.
Earlier, our source added that the Gambian Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum, Mr Muntaga M. Sallah, would be expected as one of the guests during the opening session of the programme.
