Edo Spends N36bn On Projects In 5 Years
Governor Adams
Oshiomhole of Edo State has said that the state government spent N36 billion on the execution of various projects in the state between 2008 and 2013.
Oshimhole made this known on Tuesday, in Benin while giving account of his stewardship in the state during the period.
He said that between now and December more than 100 completed projects would be inaugurated, adding that the inauguration would be carried out weekly.
He added that in spite of the shortfall from the Federal Allocation to the state, 85 per cent of its revenue was being spent on projects.
The governor said that his administration was focusing on the economic development of the state and was creating enabling environment for investment and for existing businesses to thrive.
He also said that the government would give greater attention to the improvement of security in the state and assured the people that the government would not take them for granted.
“It gives me joy to see that what previous administrations in the state could not deliver to the people, the present administration is delivering it to them,” he said.
Oshiomhole also said that “before now, the state used to be a one-party state, but today, it is no longer so and the people can proudly say that they are responsible for the election of their leaders”.
