C’River Budgets N176bn For 2014

Imoke of Cross River State has presented a budget of N176billion for 2014 to the State House of Assembly for approval
Tagged ‘Budget of Progression,’ the annual estimate is about 17 percent higher than that of the previous year.
The Governor pointed out that out of the total budget, 70 percent had been earmarked for capital projects while recurrent expenditure stood at 30 percent.
Imoke stated that under the economic sector, which includes tourism, trade and investment, agriculture would have to take the lion’s share.
The governor pointed out that the appropriation bill was being presented to the House for accelerated passage in order to give the people of the State a new lease of life.“
As a government, we are promising to sustain the standard of governance and even promised to surpass the standard that we have set’ he assured.
