Flood : Monarch Harps On Clean Environment
The District Head of
Bunza Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Alhaji Mustapha Bunza, has urged his subjects to maintain clean environment to prevent flood disaster.
Mustapha made the call when he spoke with journalists in Bunza yesterday.
The district head said that the new township roads and drainage provided in the area required proper maintenance.
He appealed to the people in the area to avoid dumping refuse in the drainage system and called for the construction of structures that would allow easy flow of water.
Mustapha commended the state government for providing the roads and drainage systems which, he said, had helped in the movement of goods and services in his domain.
He also called on the people to be more security conscious by monitoring suspicious activities of strangers into their communities and urged them to report such suspicious movements to the security agencies.
The traditional ruler admonished the people of the area to live in harmony and shun tribal religious, political and ethnic sentiments.
Mustapha also called on farmers in the area to ensure prudent utilisation of their farm produce to enhance their economic status.
