Delta Plans Construction Of BRT Lanes
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State said his administration would soon embark on the construction of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane in the state.
Uduaghan who said this during the 22nd Anniversary of the creation of Delta State and Inter-denomination Thanksgiving Service at the Living Faith Church in Warri noted. that the pilot scheme of the BRT project would commence at Jakpa Junction in Effurun and Cemetery Junction in Warri.
The governor said that his administration would continue to transform the fortunes of the state, adding that government had also done very well in the areas of peace and security.
“Delta was known for violence in the past, but now it is associated with peace. In terms of infrastructure drive, the state is moving forward, we are finishing strong, and the image of the state is changing. At 22, Delta has gone very far as a state, though we have challenges but with prayers, we are able to overcome some of those challenges,’’ he said.
Uduaghan thanked the various religious leaders for their spiritual support to ensure peace reigned in the state.
The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, in a sermon, said while praying to God for more blessings, it was appropriate to thank Him for what He did in the past.
“Thanksgiving goes beyond what God has done for anyone, it also involves what we are expecting from God. It is also used to prepare good ground for our children,’’ he said.
Oritsejafor, who took his sermon from the book of Daniel in the Holy Bible, said efficiency and effectiveness were vital in any work.
He urged leaders to spend public funds wisely by using it to impact positively on the lives of the citizenry
The CAN president urged the people of Delta to be dedicated to duties to enable the government to deliver more dividends of democracy.
