Agency To Chlorinate Wells In Bauchi LGA
Deputy Director, Bauchi State Disease Control, Primary Health Care Development Agency, Malam Mohammed Yusuf, has said that water wells in Bauchi Local Government Area would be chlorinated.
Yusuf, who was visiting a traditional ruler in Bauchi, Alhaji Nura Adamu, said the exercise was aimed at preventing the spread of water-borne diseases in the communities during this rainy season.
“The exercise is aimed at preventing the spread of water-borne diseases in the communities during the rainy season. It is an annual event and wells in six wards will all be chlorinated in an effort to fight water-borne diseases,’’ he said.
Yusuf said the communities would include Dan-Amar, Hardo, Dan-Kade, Miri, Birshi, Makama and Dawaki.
Responding, Adamu assured the director that traditional rulers in the state were in total support of any effort aimed at improving the health of the people.
