Shakeup In Rivers Police …34 Senior Offciers re-deployed
The Rivers State Police Command has effected a major transfer of senior police officers to various divisional hadquarters across the state.
The Tide learnt that about 34 senior ranking police officers in the state police command incuding Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), Superintendents of Police (SP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (WSP) as well as Assistants Superintendents of police (ASP) were affected in the major shake up.
The Tide further learnt that out of the number, 12 are CSPs, 15 SPs, WSPs 2 DSPs 2 while ASPs are 2.
The reason for the massive transfer, The Tide gathered may not be unconnected with the political impasse currently playing out in the state.
In a press release, DSP Angela Agabe, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Rivers State Police Command, explained that the transfer of the senior police officers to various divisional police headquarters across the state was a normal routine police re-organisation in the force, adding that the command was repositioned to protect lives and property of citizens in the state
The statement added that the posting takes immediate effect, and directed all the affected officers to report to their new divisions and formations accordingly.
