NIS, Eastern Zone Seeks God’s Favour
In order to seek God’s favour and direction in pilotting the affairs of Nigeria Institute of Shipping (NIS), Eastern Zone, the new executives of the body recently converged at Jerusalem, Anglican Church, Port Harcourt, Rivers State for a thanksgiving service.
In his sermon, the Vicar of the Church, Rev Romanus Foko admonished Christians on the need to seek God’s favour in all their endeavours, and commended the new leadership of the institute for their wisdom in committing their tenure to God, describing it as a right step in the right direction.
Rev Foko said for chosing to thank God for the successful election and wisdom, God must surely help them achieve their set objectives and enjoined them to always have the fear of God in all their dealings.
The man of God prayed for them and wished them a successful tenure.
In his address, the new chairman of the Institute, Eastern Zone, Mr Ebeten Moses, thanked God for a successful election which brought the new executive on board, and prayed that God should give them wisdom, courage and spirit of commitment to move the body forward in the zone.
Mr Moses, who highlighted the activities of the institute said it is an organisation that was set up by Nigerian laws to engage in all legal shipping activities, clearing and forwarding, importation, logistics handling and facilitation.
According to him, NIS also helped in training and retraining of their members so that they would be more active and knowledgeable in shipping activities.
The thanksgiving service was attended by a cream of maritime experts.
