Mrs Amaechi Tasks Youths On Career Development
Youths in Rivers State have been charged to key into the skills acquisition opportunities provided by the Rivers State Government to enhance their self-worth and financial independence.
Wife of Rivers State Governor, Judith Amaechi gave the advice at the weekend while flagging-off skill acquisition programme in Gokana Local Government Area of the state.
She said the training is aimed at empowering the youths to become entrepreneurs of high repute.
Mrs Amaechi stated that government has initiated empowerment programmes capable of alleviating the suffering of the youths and redirecting their energies towards actualising their ambition.
She added that “as youth, you must take advantage of this opportunity to develop your careers, no more hindrance or obstacle to youth’s development and empowerment”.
Over 1,000 youths are pioneering the local government skill acquisition training.
The Rivers First Lady who also commissioned the Kibagha Utra Modern Market in the area expressed appreciation to the state and local governments for providing a means of commerce for women at the grassroots.
The foundation stone of the market was laid a year ago by the governor’s wife.
